OKAY I COULDN'T RESIST....

I just stumbled upon Stella's Story while reading A Dog's Beach's blog http://www.sandiegodogbeach.com/. Jen posted a great story and I couldn't resist but to try and help Stella too. Here is her story.. * ~ Bells mama.
If you are able to help Stella that would be so great. Just imagine if 50 of us ONLY donated $10.00 to help young Stella have a happy healthy life. $500 off a $3,000 vet bill is a great gift. Ask your mama's if they have $10 or anything. I'm letting my mama not get me a new toy this month so she can donate to Stella.
PEE ESS... MY MAMA GOT ME A NEW TOY YESTERDAY SO I'LL BE COOL UNTIL NEXT MONTH.

  5. The self serve dog bath is much better than the tub at home b/c there is a grate to put on the bottom so that I do not slip all around and maybe get hurt and they had a plastic apron to keep mom dry =) oh and I am level so no bending over or hunching for the mom

  11. Hi Kimberly,

Thanks again for posting the flyer! You can email Stella and I at >stella_vetfund@yahoo.com<

Right now Stella is recovering well from her first surgery on the left hip. In fact it amazes me how resilient puppies are. I hate to use the sedatives they gave me but her puppy energy worries me on these slick hard wood floors. The vet instruction are to keep her in strict confinement for 8-12 weeks, and of course, the right hip surgery is scheduled for June 14th so it's 12 weeks out from that date. She usually comes out of the crate ready to chase the cats or play with her sister Luna, not to mention today she jumped up on the couch next to me before I could stop her. So much for no jumping.

I hate leaving her in the crate when I'm home so when I am home I spend my time massaging and petting her while also trying to pet and massage my older girl with my other hand, and love my little calico cat who can't be left out. Luckily my 18lb Tabby boy is hiding out from all us girls and getting his love at bedtime. In turn I have a good excuse to avoid housework and chores. :)

So Stella sends her love to all the kind hearted folks willing to help her out. We've raised $300 so far from what the vet office told me. And we've just started putting the word out. And I'm lucky my neighbor girls are out of school for the summer and they come over twice a day during the work week. I truly am blessed.

I'll try to remember to blog again after the surgery on the 14th. Other great news is that a doggy massage therapist offered up her services for Stella. It brings me to tears all the help we are getting. It definitely gives me faith in the human race.

Peace & Happy 4th of July,

    susan & stella

  12. Good Morning Puppies & Parents,

Tomorrow Stella goes in for her right hip TPO surgery. She appears to have recovered quickly from her left hip surgery, or at least she's still full of puppy energy that is hard to control and keep her settled. I feel so bad that she can't just be a puppy and play. Of course, she's getting plenty of love, treats, bones, massage & short leash walks.

Thanks again for all the support! We really appreciate it. Last check we had over 700 dollars in her fund.

    XO,

    Stella & Susan

  13. Good Morning! Stella had her right hip surgery last Tuesday and this time it's much harder for her, and me. They sent her home Thursday night and I took friday off to spend 3 days with her.

Her hip, thigh and knee are so much more swollen this time and she doesn't get up unless prompted or to try and get more comfortable. I just hate that she's in so much pain this time. She doesn't want to put any weight on the leg either. After a weekend like this I'm taking her back in Monday to make sure she's not having some other complication. The doc did say this hip was harder to get in place and she would have more trouble recovering this time.

Again, thanks to all who donated! We really appreciated your generousity. We ended up with about 1500 which was such a relief.

Peace to all furry and human,

    susan & stella
