Bell's Mama here, SO... BELL IS AT THE DOGGY DOCTOR RIGHT NOW.. I'VE BEEN AWAY FROM HER FOR A WEEK (she's been w/her dad) AND SAW HER LAST NIGHT & SHE'S GOT A SWOLLEN LEFT PAW. Ouch! :(
WE THINK SHE'S GOT A FOX TAIL THAT HAS GOTTEN INFECTED IN HER LEFT FRONT PAW. Probably from her running like a crazy dog @ Fiesta Island because we have no fox tails @ Dog Beach obviously... BUMMER.. FOR HER AND MY CHECKBOOK.. :) I don't mind as it needs to be done but.. OUCH to me.
Here's the list!
Exam - 41.75
Dex-Domitor - 84.50
IV Catheter - (POOR BELL) - 65.99
Foxtail Probe & Removal Grade 1 - 39.84
Skin Scraping - 28.71
Bandaging Minor - 23.75
Medications - 100.00
TOTAL ESTIMATE - $384.54
Somewhat of a bummer for us right now since we're saving to move into the new (rental) house on Aug. 1st but this needs to be done. Bell's back broke out a little bit more above her tail now.. so, hopefully the doc's will find out what's up and help my Belly girl get rid of her little issues.. :) SHE'S STILL ALL HAPPY GO LUCKY .. DIDN'T MUCH LIKE GOING AWAY W/THE DOCTOR LADY THOUGH.
SORRY BELL :(

Poor bell - hope you feel better very soon - wow shared custody that must be really rough - i am not allowed to leave mommy sight since i have a flair for the dramatic - and it ended up costing mommy 100 times that last year!!

Oh my BABY!!! I am so so sorry! When treating her wound, read about applying sugar to it.. it encourages healing and reduces the risk of infection and costs almost NOTHING!

OH and to save on medications... this is the only place to go.

That bites Kimberly! Sorry to hear it. I forgot about all the foxtail out there this time of year. Tempest got one in her nose once. It pass through, luckily, but she sneezed for months. Sad and funny at the same time. Luckily no lasting scars. Hope Bell feels better soon.
ReplyDeletePoor Bell. Hope your recovery is quick!

Sorry to hear about the foxtail -- what evil, evil things they are!
ReplyDeleteHey Bell Girl, so sorry to hear about your poor paw! Hope it's feeling a little better by now. You be a good girl & don't mess with the bandage, OK?
ReplyDeleteYour pal,
Sedona
Every time I go to the vet, I ask, "can I put you on retainer?". It still has not worked after nine dogs, but I keep trying.
ReplyDeleteafter that much, it is worth it for what those nine and the upcoming howmanyever give to us.
